Bradford’s law: identification of the core journals for neurosurgery and its subspecialties

Abstract: obJective Bradford's law describes the scatter of citations for a given subject or field. It can be used to identify the most highly cited journals for a field or subject. “…The download 1-6 from Web of Science core collection database was imported into the BICOMB (bibliographic item co-occurrence matrix builder) software, independently developed by Professor Cui Lei (Li et al, 2015 ) of the China Medical University, to extract the data. We used Bradford's Law and and Dr. Egghe (Brookes, 1969 ; Leimkuhler, 1976 ; Egghe, 1990 ; Venable et al, 2016 ) to calculate the Bradford dispersion coefficient and the number of core journal.
