“…Sheep, horses, goats and pigs have been reported as accidental hosts (Bahaman and others 1980, Hathaway and others 1983). The maintenance hosts for L interrogans serovar Pomona infection is the pig, and accidental infection has been reported in human beings, cattle, sheep, dogs and cats (Te Punga and Bishop 1953). The sources of infection for both serovars are pasture, drinking water and feed contaminated with infected urine, aborted fetuses or uterine discharge.…”
