Boundaries Determination in Potential Field Anomaly Utilizing Analytical Signal Filtering and its Vertical Derivative in Qeshm Island SE Iran

Abstract: The analytical signal method and its derivatives can be explicitly calculated and assessed for analyzing and estimating the boundary of geological structures, such as faults or dikes, from potential field anomalies. Gravity field of the east of Qeshm Island and its north coast from Sarkhun to Latidan in SE Iran has been measured in one-kilometer regular network. The regional anomaly effects are deducted from the Bouguer anomaly, where it can get the residual anomalies which is the considered dataset used in th… Show more

“…A new imaging method has been developed based on calculating the correlation coefficient of the analytic signals of the measured magnetic anomaly and the calculated response of some geometrically simple interpretive models of sheets, cylinders, and spheres. The scheme has been verified on some noise-free synthetic examples and recovered the actual model parameters (Hosseini et al, 2023;Mehanee et al, 2021). Furthermore, another new method using variance analysis has been developed by Essa et al (2021) for the interpretation of a magnetic anomaly profile by idealized-geometrical bodies.…”

“…Compared with the conventional method, the predicted distribution of magnetization intensity obtained using train a DNN model was more concentrated and had a better resolution to determine the boundary of the magnetic body (Hu et al, 2021). The application of the total intensity magnetic and reduced-to-pole maps, power spectrum, analytic signal, tilt-angle, and local wavenumber maps were used to allocate and describe the structural elements and mineralization zones such as uranium, gold, and sulfide in recognizing magnetic sources distribution, lineament features, and mineral zones (Essa et al, 2022;Hosseini et al, 2023). Recently, Standard Particle Swarm Optimization (SPSO) and Genetic Algorithm (GA) have been commonly used in the geophysical inversion.…”

“…So the conclusion of Cooper's paper were no longer applicable. To solve these problems, a group of balanced methods had been introduced such as TA of the magnitude of the horizontal gradient (HG), balanced morphological filters, directional tilt derivatives, horizontal directional theta, improved theta map, logistic of the total gradient horizontal gradient of the modified TA, and logistic of the horizontal gradient (Eldosouky et al, 2022a;Eldosouky et al, 2022b;Hosseini et al, 2023;Nasuti & Nasuti, 2018;Pham, 2021;Pham et al, 2022a;Pham et al, 2019;Pham et al, 2022b). As the application of gravimetric methods in recent years, Biswas (2015) studied the uncertainty associated with the interpretation of gravity data over simple shaped bodies (sphere and cylinder) using very fast simulated annealing (VFSA) global optimization method.…”

“…Furthermore, a new fast inversion algorithm was performed to prospect the gravity anomaly profiles, like evaluating the depth, amplitude coefficient, and shape parameter of target structures for simple geometric bodies. This new inverted model parameters approach mainly used the analytical signal of the gravity anomaly profile data in Slovakia, Cuba, and India Hosseini et al, 2023;Kianoush et al, 2022). The manta ray foraging optimization (MRFO) is a novel swarm algorithm developed by Zhao et al (2020).…”
