The use of public transportation such as train is the practical choice for the capital city people. The active gathering place for people causing waste, in this case, at the station. Various kinds of waste can be generated inside the station, such as wastewater, domestic-like waste, and hazardous waste. In the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, hazardous waste generation is the main focus not to infect humans. The purpose of this research is to examine the management of hazardous waste from the train station. This research uses secondary data from a hazardous waste inventory. The hazardous waste inventory results before the COVID-19 pandemic, hazardous waste generation is only 2.11 kg/day, and 2% are infectious characteristics. Considering that during the COVID-19 pandemic, domestic waste such as disposable masks, used gloves, tissue/cloth containing liquid/nasal and mouth droplets would fall into the category of being treated as infectious waste. Comparison with literature studies shows infectious waste generation at the train station can reach 1.93 -12.5 L/day. Reservoirs of combustible hazardous solid waste can use used drums, combustible hazardous liquid waste can use HDPE plastic material, and hazardous toxic waste can use fiberglass. Infectious, hazardous waste was put into a container lined with yellow plastic bags with biohazard symbols and given disinfectants such as 0.5% chlorine, Lysol, and carbolic acid. Hazardous waste transportation can use a Stationary Container System (SCS), and officers must use personal protective equipment according to standards. Hazardous waste treatment can use an incinerator or autoclave.

The design of hazardous waste station is intended to adjust the security in the XYZ port area based on the fire and leakage possibility of hazardous waste generation. The research method used primary and secondary data to determine the availability of land area, and solid waste generation including its characteristics, respectively. The design of hazardous waste station was initiated with field observations to measure the land availability, and followed by secondary data collection to identify the volume, characteristics, and dimensions of hazardous waste collection. The composition of hazardous wastes, based on the solid waste characteristics, was flammable (20%), flammable and toxic (56%), toxic (23%), and corrosive (1%). The result suggested that the recommended dimension of the hazardous waste station was 11m x 8 m. The container dimensions for leakage prevention were 2 m x 2 m x 0.6 m with a freeboard of 0.3 m. The fire extinguisher was within a range of 12 m.

The byproducts of anaerobic processes at municipal solid waste landfills are leachates and gas emissions. One of the landfills operating in the coastal area of Bali Island is the Suwung landfill. The objectives of this research is to identify the water quality index (WQI) and hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S) parameters, as well as the health complaints by the local community around the Suwung landfill. A total of 12 samples were taken from wells, and surface and coastal water bodies. The parameters measured in this study are TSS, DO, COD, BOD, and NO 3 -N. The comparison of the parameters were in accordance with PP No. 82 of 2001 for the second-class water quality standards. Each sample for the TSS and DO parameters meets only eight and five quality standards, respectively. Meanwhile the COD parameters are only met by one sample. For the BOD, all samples did not meet the second-class water quality standards. The WQI analysis showed that seven samples were slightly polluted and two samples were polluted moderately. The average WQI value per water quality is 4.12, which means that the water quality around the landfill is slightly polluted. The H 2 S parameters mention concentrations at four points do not meet air quality standards. Respondents felt uncomfortable with the odour caused by the H 2 S. The future implication of this study is to know the indications of public health conditions.
