Both Angiotensin Receptor Blocker and Calcium Channel Blocker Reduce the Expression of Receptor for Advanced Glycation End-Products in the Aortic Wall of Type 2 Diabetic Rats: PP.17.137

Abstract: pCa50 ¼ 6.138 AE 0.013 (n ¼ 8) in control vs. 6.137 AE 0.014 (n ¼ 8, P>0.05) in diabetes). HA1077 caused Ca2þ desensitization in tail artery from diabetic (pCa50 ¼ 5.926 AE 0.012, n ¼ 8, P < 0.001) but not control rats (pCa50 ¼ 5.944 AE 0.037, n ¼ 6, P>0.05).Conclusions: Thus, taken together, these data indicate that the mechanisms of associated with DM enhanced vascular contractility and arterial hypertension development may involve ROCK-dependent myofilaments Ca2þsensitization in muscular type arteries.
