Boron Trioxide–Alumina as a Heterogeneous Catalyst in a Facile Solvent Free One-Pot Synthesis of 3,4-Dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-Ones

Abstract: B2O3/Al2O3 has been found to be a new and highly efficient heterogeneous catalyst for the one-pot synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones by the Biginelli reaction under solvent-free conditions. 3,4-Dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones have important pharmacological and biological activities.
