Show more

“…Nonetheless, this cation is the first three-coordinate boron cation, ligated by oxygen donors. [118] 8.7. Activation of CO 2 Owing to its role as a greenhouse gas, the development of new methods for both the sequestering of CO 2 and its use as an alternative C 1 chemical feedstock is rapidly gaining increasing attention.…”

“…The removal of a Me 2 N anion from compound 4 by AlCl 3 leads finally to the heterocyclic boronium dication in the salt [8][AlCl 4 ] 2 ( Figure 4). As far as we know, this is the first example of a diboronium cation and the second example [25] in which a cationic boron species has been generated from a triaminoborane.…”

“…The X-ray structure determination shows the presence of a new kind of spiroheterocyclic molecular cation 8 containing two tetra-coordinated boron atoms and one tri-coordinated boron atom. It crystallizes as a bis(tetrachloroaluminate) with the composition [8][AlCl 4 ] 2 (CH 2 Cl 2 ) 2 ( Figure 3 shows the atoms in the asymmetric unit).…”
