Book Review: The Three German Navies: Dissolution, Transition, and New Beginnings, 1945-1960

Abstract: also sacrificed; Chabrol is hard-pressed to find heroism anywhere in the unfortunate story of a not very admirable woman persecuted, condemned and executed by an even less admirable state. No work can cover every piece of relevant evidence, but omissions of this type leave one wondering how Lloyd selected what would be analysed, and how broadly he construed the notions of heroism, collaboration and resistance central to his work.
