The emission and absorption spectra of bound excitori complexes (bound excitons) in CdSe single crystals have been investigated a t liquid helium temperature. Emission and absorption lines corresponding to creation and annihilation of (I?, -I?,) bound excitons in both the ground and the excited states have been observed. From en analysis of the observed spectra some conclusions are drawn on the nature of the defects forming the bound exciton complexes. Some new informations about the (I?, -I ' , ) free exciton spectrum are presented. An analogy between the bound excitons in CdSe and CdS is pointed out.
