Book review: Arden of Faversham by Catherine Richardson (ed.)

Abstract: Despite a general academic consensus that Shakespeare collaborated with the anonymous author of this play, the most recent edition of Arden of Faversham follows its predecessors in avoiding an authorial attribution on the front cover. Although the extensive Introduction addresses questions surrounding authorship and the nature of early modern playwriting, it is more deeply concerned with how the play presents the domestic, social, and political 'lived experience of relatively ordinary men and women' (p. 1).
