Abstract:Parathyroid Hormone (PTH) shows both catabolic or anabolic actions on the skeleton and the anabolic actions of PTH are mainly mediated by inhibition of sclerostin expression in osteocytes. Different parathyroid disorders show different effects on bone status and circulating sclerostin levels.
