Abstract:Advancement toward dye-sensitized photoelectrochemical cells to produce solar fuels by solar-driven water splitting requires a photosensitizer that is firmly attached to the semiconducting photoelectrodes. Covalent binding enhances the efficiency of electron injection from the photoexcited dye into the metal oxide.
