Bluetooth/Uwb Dual-Band Planar Diversity Antenna With Wimax and Wlan Band-Notch Characteristics

Abstract: Abstract-In this paper, a stage wise realization of compact Bluetooth -UWB dual-band diversity antenna with WiMAX and WLAN band-notch characteristics is presented. The proposed structure consists of two co-planar semicircular dual band-notch monopole antennas, mounted with planar spiral. Individual antenna configuration provides an impedance bandwidth (VSWR < 2) for dualband i.e., both Bluetooth and UWB bands. For dual band-notch characteristic, two sets of spirals are capacitively coupled with the feed line of… Show more

“…The majority of these antennas have single notches and dual notches characteristics in the UWB band. Some integrated UWB band antenna with a single notch is designed using spanner shape , while the dual notches are created by a planar spiral mounted with a set of capacitive coupled spiral on semicircular monopole, and a quarter‐wavelength stub attached to the ground plane near the feed line . Triple notches in such integrated antennas are difficult to design.…”

“…Nowadays microwave communities are working on the design and development of integrated narrow band and Ultra Wide Band (UWB) antennas with notches . GSM (900 MHz) is used for mobile communication and Ultra Wideband Technology (UWB) frequency range 3.1–10.6 GHz is used for short range wireless communication system.…”

“…Inter-element isolations of 26 dB and 20 dB are achieved in [13,14] respectively, but the antennas are designed over 3.1 GHz-5.15 GHz for a specific applications viz USB dongle and portable devices. The Bluetooth/UWB dual band diversity antenna reported in [15] uses a set of vertical microstrip lines between antenna elements to reduce the mutual coupling.…”
