“…Sigma-Ba 2 P 2 O 7 and Ba 3 P 2 O 8 are in the family of alkaline earth phosphates with the general formula A 2 P 2 O 7 , A 3 (PO 4 ) 2 , A 7 P 4 O 17 , A 4 (PO 4 ) 2 O etc. [54]. Ba 2 P 2 O 7 has two different crystal structure types: α-type, a lowtemperature phase (Orthorhombic: P nma ), and σ-type: a high-temperature phase (hexagonal: P-6 2m ) [55].…”

“…The reason for selecting an inorganic pyrophosphate for photoluminescent study is that pyrophosphates are highly significant materials because of their relatively simple and environmentally friendly synthesis techniques, excellent physiochemical and thermal stabilities, low-cost materials, etc. 16 Pyrophosphate-based compounds are now being considered as viable possibilities in the lighting industry. The best-known materials for luminous applications are pyrophosphates, especially alkali earth pyrophosphates.…”

“…[9][10][11][12][13][14] Ba 2 P 2 O 7 (BPO), as a novel pyrophosphate candidate for the phosphor host, was reported first by ElBelghitti et al [15] In recent years, the BPO phosphor materials doped with rare earth ions have been investigated extensively because of their stable physical and chemistry properties, low cost, good thermal stability, and environmental friendliness. [16] In the literature, Eu 2+ -doped Ba 2 P 2 O 7 phosphate and Ba 2 P 2 O 7 :Tb 3+ , Eu 3+ phosphate were studied by many authors and the crystal structural, photoluminescence properties and mechanisms of these phosphor were reported. [17,18] To the best of our knowledge, the luminescence property and mechanism of BPO:Ce 3+ /Tb 3+ phosphor has been rarely reported yet.…”
