“…A falta de um espaço adequado para fumar fora de casa parece constituir um motivo para as mães, que vivem, por exemplo, em apartamentos sem acesso ao espaço exterior (como uma varanda) e não podem deixar as crianças ao cuidado de outras pessoas, fumarem dentro de casa (Robinson & Kirkcaldy, 2007a). Os pais que moram nas condições descritas podem adotar outras estratégias, que consideram práticas, para tentar reduzir a exposição ao FAT, tais como o abrir de janelas, fumar em salas separadas das crianças, fumar numa sala com um ventilador ou segurar o cigarro fora da janela (Hill, Farquharson, & Borland, 2003). Outro estudo revelou que os pais que fumam no interior da casa estão menos convencidos dos efeitos negativos que a exposição ao FAT provoca na saúde do que os pais que não fumam ou dos que fumam ao ar livre (Johansson, Hermansson, & Ludvigsson, 2004), o que revela que o consumo de tabaco em casa está de alguma forma relacionado com a atitude dos pais em relação ao FAT.…”
