“…While PC in the present study was highest immediately postexercise following 30 minutes of cycling at approximately 73% V O 2 max, the elevation from baseline did not reach statistical significance (0.3020 Ϯ 0.0279 to 0.5180 Ϯ 0.0609 nM·mg protein Ϫ1 , mean Ϯ SEM). It is possible that aerobic exercise of a greater intensity or duration could have produced PC at greater concentrations after exercise, as shown previously by Goldfarb et al (15). It is interesting to note that the mean PC values for subjects in the present investigation were lower (0.518 nM·mg protein Ϫ1 ) than those reported by Goldfarb et al (15) in subjects following the 60% (0.60 nM·mg protein Ϫ1 ) and 80% (1.20 nM·mg protein Ϫ1 ) V O 2 max bouts.…”
