Blood and urinary cytokine balance and renal outcomes at cardiac surgery

Abstract: BACKGROUND Increased perioperative pro-inflammatory biomarkers, renal hypoperfusion and ischemia reperfusion injury (IRI) heighten cardiac surgery acute kidney injury (CS-AKI) risk. Increased urinary anti-inflammatory cytokines attenuate risk.
