Industry 4.0 integrates the physical, digital, and biological realms by applying digital automation in systems, processes, and manufacturing facilities. Industry 4.0 is actively shaping the development of intelligent food processing industries in cultivated meat (CM) sector. This integration plays a crucial role in accelerating progress within the global CM sector, facilitating the achievement of its objectives related to food sustainability, security, human health, environmental concerns, and hygiene. Incorporating Industry 4.0 into CM manufacturing systems empowers upstream and downstream production processes to become more intelligent and capable of self‐optimisation. However, enabling rapid adoption of Industry 4.0 by emerging startups and small to medium‐sized enterprises in the CM industry necessitates a thorough understanding of prerequisites and evaluation of technological and biological limitations. Challenges include the substantial initial costs associated with establishing Industry 4.0 infrastructure, robust cybersecurity measures to ensure effective risk management, and acquiring skilled professionals proficient in both operational and maintenance roles. Integrating Industry 4.0 with the evolving CM sector presents an exciting opportunity to foster business‐to‐business investments across various domains, including local markets, export opportunities, and the broader global consumer ecosystem.

The food supply chain (FSC) comprises food production, storage, delivery, and retailing of food to reach the final customers by the due date. In general, the modern FSC is extraordinarily complex and challenging to manage; therefore, an efficient and effective supply chain requires appropriate management. All actors in the FSC have to keep track of the most recent trends and challenges and respond to changes quickly to keep up production and stay competitive. This paper explains some selected trends and challenges in the modern FSC. Moreover, the influence of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the impact of the Ukraine war on the FSC are investigated. Despite the new trends and massive improvements in the FSC in terms of efficiency, some current problems remain unsolved, whereas new issues will arise in the future. The COVID-19 outbreak and the Ukraine war are two examples that imposed new challenges and significant consequences on the FSC.

Blockchain platforms propagate into every facet, including managing medical services with professional and patient-centered applications. With its sensitive nature, record privacy has become imminent with medical services for patient diagnosis and treatments. The nature of medical records has continued to necessitate their availability, reachability, accessibility, security, mobility, and confidentiality. Challenges to these include authorized transfer of patient records on referral, security across platforms, content diversity, platform interoperability, etc. These, are today – demystified with blockchain-based apps, which proffers platform/application services to achieve data features associated with the nature of the records. We use a permissioned-blockchain for healthcare record management. Our choice of permission mode with a hyper-fabric ledger that uses a world-state on a peer-to-peer chain – is that its smart contracts do not require a complex algorithm to yield controlled transparency for users. Its actors include patients, practitioners, and health-related officers as users to create, retrieve, and store patient medical records and aid interoperability. With a population of 500, the system yields a transaction (query and https) response time of 0.56 seconds and 0.42 seconds, respectively. To cater to platform scalability and accessibility, the system yielded 0.78 seconds and 063 seconds, respectively, for 2500 users.
