Blockchain-Based Architecture for a Sustainable Supply Chain in Cloud Architecture

Abstract: Blockchain technology, as a well-known technology in financial spaces, has many advantages in non-financial industries and supply chains. Two of the main benefits of blockchain technology are smart contracts and distributed decision-making processes. These features can be especially useful in implementing Industry 4.0. Moreover, this technology can increase productivity in supply chains by enhancing transparency, reducing operational costs, and improving monitoring and supervision throughout the lifecycle of p… Show more

“…The business analysis included in the study goes beyond technical benefits, highlighting the potential of FISHY adoption in real-world use cases to enhance cybersecurity across the supply chain (Masip-Bruin et al, 2021). Radmanesh, Haji, and Valilai (2023) introduce a blockchain-based architecture for enhancing sustainability in supply chains through cloud architecture. This innovative approach leverages blockchain technology's advantages, such as smart contracts and distributed decision-making processes, to implement Industry 4.0 more efficiently.…”

“…The study investigates the impact of the proposed blockchain-based platform on supply chain sustainability, revealing significant improvements in decentralized states compared to centralized states. These improvements directly enhance economic and environmental sustainability, showcasing the potential of blockchain technology in creating more sustainable and secure supply chains (Radmanesh, Haji, & Valilai, 2023). Sayogo et al (2015) discuss the development of an interoperable data architecture to integrate data regarding sustainability practices from disparate sources in sustainable supply chains.…”

“…Definition of goals and objectives among participating companies; Three technologies can be utilized: Blockchain, cloud computing, and big data analysis. Blockchain can streamline contracts by creating digital twins that interact and can be automatically modified, facilitating the definition of rules and goals without direct interaction (Zhang et al 2023;Radmanesh et al 2023). Big data analysis can be used with the other two technologies for resolution criteria and a definition of the review cycle based on process evaluation.…”
