Blockchain-Based Access Control and Behavior Regulation System for IoT

Abstract: With the development of 5G and the Internet of things (IoT), the multi-domain access of massive devices brings serious data security and privacy issues. At the same time, most access systems lack the ability to identify network attacks and cannot adopt dynamic and timely defenses against various security threats. To this end, we propose a blockchain-based access control and behavior regulation system for IoT. Relying on the attribute-based access control model, this system deploys smart contracts on the blockc… Show more

“…By tracing and scrutinizing past user actions, a more robust access control system has been devised to enhance security. Song et al [19] propose a blockchain-based IoT access control and behavior supervision system. The system relies on an ABAC model and utilizes smart contracts to achieve distributed and finegrained access control, ensuring the credibility of the identity and permissions of the accessing users.…”

“…Additionally, the opaque nature of transaction and access logs within these systems has raised concerns regarding their trustworthiness and auditability-critical aspects for both residential and commercial applications. In recent years, there have been some blockchain-based solutions in IoT device scenarios [23][24][25], but these solutions are difficult to ensure communication security. The integration of blockchain smart contracts with authentication protocol, especially within the context of smart lock systems, signifies a paradigm shift towards more secure, transparent, and efficient operations.…”
