Bleeding Complications in Atrial Fibrillation Patients on Anticoagulant Therapy

Abstract: The risk of bleeding in atrial fibrillation patients on direct oral anticoagulant treatment increases with age; particularly dabigatran is associated with a higher risk of gastrointestinal bleeding in elderly patients, low body mass ([48 kg) and women due to the induced dyspepsia.
