Blastocystis is widely distributed in mammals and aves

Abstract: Background: Blastocystis sp. is a unicellular protozoan and one of the most common gastrointestinal eukaryotic parasites in humans and animals. It is distributed worldwide, but its pathogenic role is still controversial.
