Abstract: We have succeeded in synthesizing black phosphorus employing a one-pot solvothermal reaction of red phosphorous and ethylenediamine used as a solvent.

“…[170,171] For example, Ozawa and coauthors have synthesized few-layer BP nanosheets via a simple solvothermal reaction of RP powders and ethylenediamine (ED) was selected as a reaction solvent and the photocatalytic performance of the as-prepared catalysts was examined for hydrogen evolution from methanol aqueous solution under visible light illumination (Figure 7). [134] Typically, the bulk RP powders were dispersed into the ED aqueous solution and the slurry mixture was transferred into the Teflon-lined autoclave and kept at different temperatures (140,150,160, and 170 °C) for 12-48 h. After cooling down to room temperature, the obtained mixture was filtered and washed with ethanol and distilled water. At last, the obtained samples were dried for 12 h…”

“…53 Solvothermal reaction was also investigated by Yoshida and coworkers for the synthesis of BP with amines and RP as solvent and starting material, respectively. 54 The effects of the reaction time, particle size of RP, and RP concentration in the slurry on the yield of BP were evaluated. Encouragingly, the yield of BP could be saturated above 15 g L -1 .…”
