Bistatic SAR through Wall Imaging Using Back-Projection Algorithm

Abstract

In the BiSAR (Bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar) through wall imaging system, effective imaging algorithm is of great importance. Back Projection (BP) algorithm can serve almost all cases with good precision. A bistatic configuration with a stationary receiver and a side-looking vehicleborne transmitter has been designed for through wall imaging in this paper. BP algorithm in this case is developed. The range, Doppler and azimuth resolution formulations are deuced. Imagings of a room with targets in it are simulated, and resolution distributions of the scene under different bistatic configuration are simulated too. it is found out that the bistatic angle affects the imaging of a scene. Simulation results and the theoretical analysis can be reference for bistatic through wall SAR imaging.
