“…in 11 yr for 10 groups; Cristóbal-Azkarate et al 2017) Furthermore, the birth rate observed for the translocated population (0.51 ± 0.32 yr −1 ) is consistent with other reports for the species (0.36−0.52 in Cristóbal-Azkarate et al 2017;~0.5 in Carrera-Sánchez et al 2003;0.62 in Cortés-Ortiz et al 1994). A positive birth rate can indicate that the translocated howler monkeys have adapted properly to their release site and probably are in good nutritional condition (Rossi & dos Santos 2018). Also, the translocated focal group increased its activity area over time (Year 1: 5.5 ha; Year 6: 12 ha), with the last value reported (92 ha in 2018; Maya-Lastra 2018) being similar to non-translocated populations of howlers in conserved forests (Table 1).…”

“…As interações sociais, quando bem-sucedidas, são afiliativas e/ou sexuais e todos os indivíduos continuam tendo acesso a alimentação e água normalmente. Este processo pode ser denominado "Familiarização" (Rossi, 2008;Rossi e Santos, 2018). É importante oferecer vários pontos de alimentação no recinto considerando a quantidade de animais ali alojados para evitar o monopólio de um indivíduo dominante sobre os demais.…”

“…( 21 ), but to the authors' knowledge no studies on ultrasonography of fetal development have been published in Alouatta . Additionally, ex- situ facilities are uniquely positioned to study topics like nutrition, microbiome, stress, contraception, and their effects on reproductive potential, and because some reproductive parameters have been published for A. caraya, A. palliata and A. seniculus ( 25 27 ) and few other species of howler monkeys, conservation efforts would benefit greatly from addressing those gaps.…”
