“…concolor (cf. = color form) (Kimani-Njogu et al 2001;Wharton et al 2000). However, recent genetic analysis showed clear separation of the north African P. concolor and the sub-Saharan P. humilis (Rugman-Jones et al 2009).…”

“…The P. humilis Ka was previously referred to P. cf. concolor (Kimani-Njogu et al 2001;Wharton et al 2000;Yokoyama et al 2008a) or P. concolor (Wang et al 2009b, c). The P. humilis Namibia (Na) colony was originally established from parasitoids reared from B. oleae collected on wild olives in Namibia ).…”

“…I am unable to divide them satisfactorily into distinct species groups despite several attempts to delineate a smaller subset as the concolor species group (Wharton and Gilstrap 1983;Wharton 1997;Kimani-Njogu et al 2001;Rugman-Jones et al 2009). Species such as P. concolor, P. humilis, P. cosyrae (Wilkinson), P. perproxima (Silvestri), and P. phaeostigma (Wilkinson) are capable of hybridizing (producing viable female off spring) when confi ned in small containers (Kimani-Njogu et al 2001;Billah et al 2008a) despite originating from genetically distinct populations and in some cases being morphologically distinct as well (Kimani-Njogu et al 2001;Billah et al 2008b;Rugman-Jones et al 2009). Several cryptic species remain to be elucidated, and applying available names to various Afrotropical populations will continue to be a challenge (Rugman-Jones et al 2009).…”

“…When ANOVAs were significant (P = 0.05), the means were separated using the Student-Newman-Keuls (SNK) test [14,15,16,17]. All data metrices were log 10 transformed first before the statistical treatment.…”

“…All morphometric analyses were performed using Statistical Analysis System software version 8.2 (SAS Institute Inc., 2001). Wing and hind tibia measurements were analyzed separately to allow covariances between distances, sexes and species to interact in a more meaningful way [14].…”
