“…In Figure a, apart from two straight lines caused by Rayleigh scattering of H 2 O, two main peaks (Excitation wavelength: 225 and 280 nm; Emission wavelength: 340 nm) are characteristic signals of tryptophan (Trp) contained materials, like proteins, enzymes, peptides, glycosidoproteins, and lipopeptids in s‐EPS. [ 14,19 ] These two peaks were apparently consumed after recovery (Figure 3b), demonstrating that Trp played an important role in the reducing reaction. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR) curves of s‐EPS, PdPt@s‐EPS, Pd@s‐EPS and Pt@s‐EPS provide more information of the recovery and synthetic mechanism (Figure 3c).…”

“…A parallel factor (PARAFAC) analysis was used to deal with the EEM data and identify EPS components . The functional groups and elemental forms of EPS were characterized with FTIR spectroscopy (Nicolet 6700, Thermo, USA) and X-ray photospectroscopy (XPS, K-Alpha+, Thermo, USA), respectively, , as detailed the SI (Text S3). Protein secondary structures were analyzed on the second-derivatized and deconvoluted spectra of the amide I band using Peakfit software (version 4.12, Seasolve Software Inc.).…”
