“…Petri dishes were incubated in an Innova ® 42 Incubator at 37 o C for 24 h and bacterial growth against the actinobacterial isolate seeded, was observed. Antibiosis was indicated by visually observable growth inhibition on target organisms and results were recorded as follows: inhibition zone > 2 cm: +++ (good activity), inhibition zone between 1-2 cm: ++ (moderate activity), inhibition zone < 1 mm: + (weak activity) and – (no activity) [ 47 ]. Negative and positive controls using rifampicin, vancomycin, ciprofloxacin and nalidixic acid (50mg/mL) (Sigma-Aldrich ® ) for pathogenic bacteria were assessed in a petri dish with Muller-Hinton agar (MH-Oxoid ® ) and were incubated in an Innova ® 42 Incubator at 37 o C for 24h.…”

“…Taking into account that the production of L-asparaginase is influenced by physical and chemical factors [26], six carbon sources at 1% (lactose, xylose, ribose, inositol and maltose) were evaluated in twenty-five selected strains with high production of L-asparaginase [21,26,27]. Glucose (1%) was used as a positive control and medium without carbon source as a negative control.…”

“…Glucose (1%) was used as a positive control and medium without carbon source as a negative control. Likewise, the effect of nitrogen source at 0.05% (meat extract, malt extract and peptone in combination with L-asparagine (0.05%)) [21,26,27] was evaluated. Lasparagine (0.1%) was used as a positive control and medium without a nitrogen source as a negative control.…”

“…The 16S rRNA gene was amplified using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in a thermocycler (BIO-RAD iCycler, USA) with extracted DNA as the template [18]. The PCR reaction was confirmed by electrophoresis in 1× Tris-Borate-EDTA (TBE) buffer and compared with a ladder of molecular markers (HyperLadder™ IV, Bioline, London).…”
