“…mass spectrometry. This binding mode of the adeninate ion has been previously described only for Mo(IV) [9], Rh(III) [10,11], Ir(III) [12] and Ru(II) [13,14] 15 N. Inverse detected spectra were obtained through heteronuclear multiple bond correlation (HMBC) experiments, using parameters similar to those previously reported [6]. ESI-MS spectra were performed with a MSD SL Trap mass spectrometer (Agilent Technologies, Palo Alto, CA, USA) operating in positive ion mode from m/z 100-2200.…”

“…The 195 Pt resonance, at d À4948, in addition to the coupling with the 31 P nuclei, appears in resonance with the proton at d 4.507, with 2 J PtH = 105 Hz. The coordination mode of the 9-substituted adenine found in 2, structurally authenticated in Ru, Mo, Ir and Rh complexes [9][10][11][12][13][14], has only a few precedents in the Pt chemistry [7]. We have monitored the condensation reaction between the hydroxo complex 1 and 9-MaAd in a variety of solvents.…”

“…The overall hydrophilicity of the metalla-cycles combined with potential inner hydrophobic interactions with guest molecules have been exploited previously. The potential of using half-sandwich assemblies for sensing was first introduced by Fish in the early 1990s [46]. A series of metalla-cycles with specific interactions with small anions was described (Scheme 1).…”

“…Recently, Severin has constructed a series of macrocycles and cages by connecting (g 5 -C 5 Me 5 )M(III) (M = Ir, Rh) or (g 6 -arene)Ru(II) fragments by multifunctional ligands [6]. Self-assembly of such half-sandwich complex units with 3-hydroxy-2-pyridone in the presence of a base (Cs 2 CO 3 ) led to the formation of trinuclear metallacrowns [7]; this work was inspired from the trinuclear metallacrown [(g 5 -C 5 Me 5 )Rh(9-methyladenyl)] 3 -[O 3 SCF 3 ] 3 AE 6H 2 O synthesised by Fish in the early 1990s [8]. Recently we have shown the cationic triangular metallo-prisms [(g 6 -arene) 6 Ru 6 (4-tpt) 2 (l 2 -C 2 O 4 ) 3 ] 6+ (arene = p-Pr i C 6 H 4 Me, C 6 Me 6 : 4-tpt = 2,4,6-tri(pyridin-4-yl)-1,3,5-triazine) containing bridging oxalato ligands to have a double-helical chirality [9].…”
