Biomechanik und Implantate (2)

Abstract: ConclusionUnexpectedly, our data indicate increasing frontal plane congruence will increase, not decrease wear. Also unexpectedly, increasing surface quality (reducing roughness) also did not result in the lowest volumetric wear observed. Further investigations are planed to confirm and elucidate these results, the thus gained knowledge will be important in the conceptualization of low-wear knee-prostheses based on a ceramic-ceramic joint pairing.
