“…In recent years, CS based bioactive materials have been extensively investigated for a wide range of biomedical application. Although Hou et al conducted a bibliometric study on biomaterials, the literature search of this study was limited to China and did not include medically related search terms, which could not well reflect the application of biomedical materials in the medical field (Hou et al, 2019). Zhu et al made a bibliometric analysis of biomaterials in healthcare application, but this study only analyzed the papers published in the journal of advanced healthcare materials in the last 10 years (Zhu et al, 2021).…”

“…Data were obtained from the Web of Science online database (Clarivate Analytics, Philadelphia, PA, USA) in January 2020. Web of Science is a universal scientific citation index used to retrieve scholarly articles and academic literature [ 41 , 42 ]. This bibliometric study analyzed articles related to major journals publishing aECM research from 1 January 1990 through 31 December 2019.…”

“…VOSviewer, developed by van Eck and Waltman [26], has many common bibliometric functions, including bibliographic coupling, co-authorship, co-occurrence, and co-citation analysis. The software has been widely used in scientometric analysis in many domains: Library and information science [29], medicine [30,31], computer science [32], biology [33], and education [34]. CiteSpace, developed by Chen [27], as a tool for producing knowledge maps, can identify and display new trends and developments in a subject area through analysis of the literature, and can detect the research progress, current research frontiers, and knowledge bases of such an area.…”
