“…The above results indicated that CCP2 holded a strong potential to stimulate macrophages, which was the key participant in innate and adaptive immunity. Compared with previous reports, CCP2 showed stronger effect on the activation of the phagocytosis of macrophages ( 22 , 34 , 39 ).…”

“…26 On isolated macrophages, ethanolic and ethyl acetate extracts of B. rapa seeds both inhibited macrophage proliferation. In contrast, other authors observed stimulation of macrophages under Brassica roots extract 12,28 or by aqueous extract of total plant from Brassica campestris with the experiments conducted on macrophage cell line RAW 264.7 and not on isolated macrophages 11 We indicated, for the first time, an inhibition of freshly isolated macrophage proliferation under B. rapa seeds extracts leading to an antiinflammatory effect of compounds present in B. rapa extracts. This conclusion is confirmed by previous publications indicating an antiinflammatory effect of B. rapa root compounds on cultured macrophage cell lines.…”

“…Most research so far was carried out on other parts (leaves, roots… etc) and only a few scientific studies on the effects of the seeds of these plants on immunity were carried out. 28,30,31 In Moroccan culture, seeds of both plants (Brassica and Raphanus) are indicated by traditional herbalists to treat infections but also included in formulas to treat cancers. In this study, our goal was to verify the traditional herbalist use of these seeds in formulas by exploring their immunostimulant impact.…”

“…To further investigate the immunological activity of AMP-ZnONPs on RAW264.7 cells, the cytokine (IL-1β and IL-6) contents in cells were evaluated by RT-qPCR in this study ( Figures 6C,D ). LPS stimulated the production of IL-1β and IL-6 by more than 2,000 times compared to the control group ( P < 0.001), which indicated that LPS could promote inflammation and lead to excessive cytokine release ( 52 ). Notably, AMP-ZnONPs treatment exerted a significant action on IL-1β and IL-6 secretion than both AMP and ZnONPs ( P < 0.001), which showed ZnONPs exerted a synergistic effect with AMP.…”
