Biological activities and luteolin derivatives of Verbascum eskisehirensis Karavel., Ocak Ekici

Abstract: In this present study, the aerial parts of Verbascum eskisehirensis were dried in the shade and air-flowed area. The dried samples were macerated with 70% methanol in water for 24 h by three times. The biological activities of the extract was determined by in vitro methods. The antioxidant activity was evaluated in 2,2'-diphenyl-1picrylhydrazyl (DPPH˙) radical scavenging assay and the trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC) was measured the ability of the extract to scavenge the stable radical cation ABT… Show more

“…These results could provide insights into the key catalytic residues and the catalytic mechanisms of O-GTs from liverworts. Such mutant enzymes might prove useful in the biocatalytic synthesis of specific luteolin glucosides, due to the position of conjugation could affect both the bioavailability and health beneficial activity of luteolin for humans (Aziz et al, 2018;Baskar et al, 2011;Öztürk et al, 2019). , 6, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, and 72 h).…”

“…TEAC assay was performed as in our previous Verbascum publication [26]. This assay assesses the capacity of a compound to scavenge the stable ABTS radical in comparison tothe antioxidant activity of Trolox, a water-soluble form of vitamin E that is used as a standard.…”
