Biogas production from Napier grass and cattle slurry using a green energy technology

Abstract: The use of alternative biomass sources that are not competitive with food production is intended for sustainable management in biogas production through anaerobic digestion. This study investigates the Napier grass and cattle slurry-based biogas production application that could be applied more cost-effectively more sustainable production biogas. The laboratory-based biogas plant and a biogas plant in practice revealed that the results from the laboratory experiments were realistic and transferable into practi… Show more

“…MM-2 [146]. The maximum CH 4 content of the co-digested treatment of Napier grass and cow farm slurry group for 45 days was increased to 64.4%, which was 3.4-fold higher than that of the untreated group [147]. A new discovered process of direct interspecies electron transfer (DIET) can help to an increase of biogas production by promoting rapid electron donation and acceptance of microbes during the anaerobic digestion [148].…”

“…However, co-fermentation of plants with other organic substrates is usually carried out for the effective synthesis of biogas. The grass and cattle slurry co-fermentation was used to increase the effectiveness of biogas production [ 8 ]. This increases the costs of implementing the biotechnology and its operation.…”

“…[ 29 ]. This process is extremely promising and economically beneficial for obtaining biogas [ 8 ]. However, its implementation is ensured by a diversified microbial community, which contains various physiological and taxonomic groups of microorganisms that gradually transform the available organic substrate into high-energy fuel.…”

“…The researches have been done on hybrid energy systems by various approaches. In [15], optimal scheduling and design of resources is done by memetic algorithm at connected mode to electrical company. The energy management by joint approach between renewable resources and household is proposed in [16].…”
