“…Finally, analysis of the solutions obtained from the oxidation of BPA showed five by-products during the reaction: BPA-O-catechol (BPA-O-C), bisphenol-O-quinone (BPA-Q), 3-hydroxy-4-(2-hydroxypropan-2-yl) cyclohexa-3,5-diene-1,2-dione (3-H-4-2-HP-2-C-3,5-D-1,2-D), 4-hydroxyacetophenone (4-HAP), 4-isopropenylphenol (4-IPP), and hydroquinone (HQ). These products have been reported by other authors: BPA-O-C [63][64][65][66][67][68][69], BPA-Q [63,65], 4-IPP [20,64,[66][67][68]70,71], 4-HAP [20,63,64,[66][67][68]70],…”

“…From Figure b, it can be seen that the main peaks at 833.6 and 850.6 eV can be attributed to La 3d 5/2 and La 3d 3/2 of the trivalent state of the La ions, whereas the satellite peaks at 837.8 and 854.7 eV can be attributed to charge transfer from the ligand O 2p energy level to the La 4f energy level. The two major peaks at 724.2 and 710.3 eV with vibrational satellites at 718.6 eV found in the XPS spectra of Fe 2p in Figure c can be assigned to Fe 2p 1/2 and Fe 2p 3/2 , indicating that both Fe and lanthanide ions are present in the chemical valence state +3. In addition to the different La, Fe, and O spectral lines, Figure d shows the C 1s signal, and the XPS spectrum can be divided into three sets of peaks, with the peaks located at 284.8 and 286 eV corresponding to the C–C bond and the oxygen-bound material produced from indeterminate carbon.…”

“…However, one recent study focuses on photo-Fenton degradation of different micropollutants including BPS. Authors describe that complete degradation of BPS could be achieved under optimized conditions within 10–20 min . Further studies focusing on oxidative BPS degradation by means of UV + H 2 O 2 , UV + O 3 , or O 3 + H 2 O 2 have already shown earlier that • OH-based processes are suitable to degrade BPS in aqueous solutions. , However, investigations regarding BPS degradation are scarce.…”
