Biocompatible and biodegradable wound dressings on the basis of seaweed polysaccharides (review of literature)

Abstract: The review presents the characteristics of modern biocompatible and biodegradable wound dressings on the basis of seaweed polysaccharides (carrageenans of red algae, fucoidans and alginates of brown algae, ulvans of green algae) and notes the key physicochemical and biological properties that are important for constructing wounds dressings. There are information on various types of wound dressings and results of experimental and clinical tests of dressings in the treatment of wounds of various origins. Particu… Show more

“…For example, there are products presented in the form of matrices, lyophilisates, powders, films, hydrogels, sponge materials, and patches [3,4]. The functional feature of many surgical materials is a complex favorable effect on tissues: they may be carriers of medicinal agents and deliver biologically active substances, growth factors, and regeneration stimulators to the damaged zone [4][5][6].…”

“…На основе хитозана и кальциевой соли альгиновой кислоты для лечения инфицированных и гнойных ран различной локализации и генеза разработаны биосовместимые гелевые формы раневых покрытий, содержащие в качестве биологически активных компонентов БАВ из морских гидробионтов (фукоидан, тинростим, моллюскам) [43][44][45][46].…”
