Biochemical Methane Potential Assessment by Anaerobic Digestion of Locally Available Grasses of Phuentsholing, Bhutan

Abstract: Renewable energy is not only environmental friendly but also promotes sustainable development. Biogas being one of the abundantly used renewable resource, the enhancement and optimization of the yield of biogas can help in reduction of dependence on imported fuel. Biochemical methane potential (BMP) assessment of grass will determine the production of methane (CH4) from this substrate through the process of anaerobic digestion. After determining the parameters such as pH, Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and To… Show more

“…We have recorded more than 100 such cases; of whom the majority of them had exposure to Paederus beetles that are found inhabiting their locality. In 2022, another outbreak with more than 300 cases of similar skin conditions was reported 8 where more than 80% of the victims were exposed to the same beetles. This outbreak of unusual skin rash is new to the local inhabitants.…”

“…As a result, the assessment results obtained by conventional methods are often one-sided and cannot provide reliable support for the global planning strategy of the distribution network. [2] . In order to optimize and adjust the above-mentioned problems of conventional assessment methods, it is necessary to synthesize various influencing factors and make a comprehensive assessment of the alert state adjustable potential of the distribution network, in addition to mastering the distribution network line loss anomalies.…”
