Biochemical alterations in patients with acute leukaemia

Abstract: After statistical analysis of biochemical parameters in 60 patients with acute leukaemia, it was concluded that most prominent alterations were elevated values of serum lactate-dehydrogenase, uric acid and calcaemia. In patients with acute myeloid leukaemia, prothrombin time and partial thromboplastin time were significantly prolonged, and in patients with acute lymphocytic leukaemia serum immunoglobuline levels were significantly lower.
