“…Because the purpose of this pilot case study is to determine the feasibility of comprehensively integrating personal exposome and internal multi-omics to investigate the phenotypic variations, the validation of those testable hypotheses should be performed after this study. In addition, we focused on the airborne exposome and did not measure other exposures, such as dermal and ingestion exposures, inorganic chemical components ( Gao et al 2019a ; Xu et al 2019 , 2020 ; da Silva et al 2020 ), psychosocial stressors, and personal lifestyle, which may affect the clinical measurements as well ( Fig. 6 A).…”

“…It should also be noted that the lowest bioavailability of P in soil was recorded in sample 1.2 (BAC + Cr). This may explain why Cr bioavailability was recorded in sample 1.2 (BAC + Cr) at the end of the test, since Cr is an analog of P and a lower bioavailability of P in the soil may indicate that it is in the biochar competing for binding sites. , However, to further elaborate on the above, a daily analysis of P bioavailability monitoring was performed for each soil type (Cr, Cd, or Pb) regardless of the type of treatment (Figure c). No significant effect of time on P bioavailability was found for the three soil types.…”

“…Undoubtedly, due to the limitation of the single participant and annotation power in this study, future research should monitor the precision environmental health of 15 more individuals and increase the annotation confidence of the chemical and biological components in the exposome. In addition, we focused on the airborne exposome and did not measure other exposures, such as dermal and ingestion exposures, inorganic chemical components [50][51][52][53], psychosocial stressors, as well as personal lifestyle, which may affect the clinical measurements as well (Figure 6a). Nonetheless, this study demonstrates the power of using a holistic approach of monitoring the exposome on personal environmental health using inter-omics analyses, and serves as a useful model to scale to the other individuals and locations.…”
