Bio- Medical Applications of Graphene, Its Modelling and Simulation

Abstract

A part produced has to deliver its performance in actual prevailing conditions. When designing a product, knowledge of material properties is very essential so that it can be judged whether the material can serve the intended purpose (and upto what extent) or not. Thus properties of material affect its performance and knowledge of actual performance environment helps in selection of material and its material properties. Depending on the end use, material properties are decided by the designer. Thus processing of materials is also a crucial area of study. The aim of the present work is to make a step in prediction of prototype performance of part and its material properties, thus present a road map accordingly.Processing of biomedical parts consisting of various biocompatiple properties is emerging area of study in material science. There are many processed materials which are used for biomedical applications depending on their properties. Some of the biocompatible thermoplastic materials are acrylonitric butadiene styrene (ABS), PC-ISO etc. Medical, pharmaceutical and food handling equipment have stringent regulations to protect consumers from illness and disease. Regulations include standards such as ISO 10993 and USP Class VI, which classify a material as biocompatible. ABSM30i meets these criteria so it can be used for products that come in contact with skin and food.ABS-M30i blends strength with sterilization capability. ABS-M30i can be sterilized using either gamma radiation or ethylene oxide (Eta) sterilization methods.
