“…The variables were described in terms of average and standard deviation. One-way ANOVA was used to compare quantitative variables between two different combinations, and all parameters (L*, a*, b*, C*, and h°) were correlated using Pearson's correlation (p value) [9]. The correlation with p < 0.05 was deemed significant whereas p > 0.05 was deemed insignificant.…”

“…The use of binary mixed metal combinations on wool fibers in conjunction with various natural dyes has also shown improved colorimetric and fastness properties. Recently, Rather et al (9) carried out a statistical analysis of different color parameters on wool fibers by the use of different metal salt combinations like Fe/Cu, Fe/Al, and Cu/Al. The results showed significant variations in L*, a*, b*, and C* values at different concentration levels ranging between 1.00 and 5.00% with positive correlation (p ≤ 0.05) between different parameters like (L*; a*), (L*; b*), (L*; C*), (a*; b*), (a*; C*), and (b*; C*) [9].…”

“…Natural dyes are considered as safer and eco-friendlier substitutes to synthetic dyes and are usually applied on natural protein fibers such as wool and silk [1][2][3][4][5]. Different techniques such as metal-mordanting [6,7], bio-mordanting [8,9], enzyme treatment [10], plasma treatment [11][12][13], chitosan treatment [14,15], ultrasonic radiation [16,17], microwave heating [18,19] have been employed for the improvement of natural dyeing of wool fibers. Metal mordanting is the traditional method which is widely used for increasing the exhaustion and color strength of natural dyes on wool and silk.…”
