Binary Logistic Regression Analysis of Teacher Self-Efficacy Factors Influencing Literacy and Numeracy

Abstract: This paper discusses the teacher efficacy factors contributing to student achievement in literacy and numeracy in 105 primary schools within Sibu division, Sarawak, Malaysia. The study observed high levels of practice for teacher efficacy. The t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to analyze the differences between gender, teaching experience and academic qualification. The study reported significant differences in respondent perceptions based on teaching experience. Here, the post hoc Tuke… Show more

“…This can be seen from the results of the data obtained showing that the indicators of being able to face the problems faced, believing in their success, daring to face challenges, and daring to take risks and decisions are higher than other indicators. [8], [29], [30] Stating that students' self-efficacy helps students in performing numeracy literacy performance.…”

“…In addition, the samples are small size and can limit the results. Apart from the interest in learning, factors that need to be considered in the achievement of literacy and numeracy in early childhood include self-regulation [54], home learning environment [55], teacher efficacy [56], educational level of parents [15], collaborative parent-child interactions [30], [57], and gender [15]. The factors mentioned above, although not analyzed or in the focus of this research, can be factors that can influence the results that can be taken into consideration in future research.…”

“…depending only on parameter 1 . This is one of the great advantages of logistic regression: the possibility of direct interpretation of the coefficients as measures of association (Giannini, Latorre, & Ferreira, 2012;Sio Jyh Lih & Ismail, 2019).…”
