BIM Approach to Modeling a Sports Pavilion for University Use

Abstract: New developments in software projects for the construction sector are a technological revolution and provide new methods of infrastructure design and modeling, highlighting the Building Information Modeling (BIM). BIM is a technology and methodology used in the most developed countries and little by little this technology is being implemented in other countries where its use is increasing. This new work methodology makes it easier to manage and plan new projects, saving time and minimizing costs. The advantage… Show more

“…As a result, the feasibility of the proposed mapping-free localization framework was proven with reduced localization errors. Muñoz et al [30] developed an approach to modeling a sports pavilion in Seville, Spain. Three-dimensional modeling was carried out using Edificius and CYPECAD MEP software to design the building's facilities.…”

“…Daszczynski et al (2022) presented basic construction collisions with algorithms of their solutions and described possible financial benefits associated with the use of the BIM approach in MEP [6]. At present, the application of BIM in MEP systems mostly adopts BIM software to carry out 3D modeling and collision checking of MEP systems [1,7]. A BIM software such as Revit allows the modelers to input all information related to MEP components that have been outlined in the design drawings.…”

“…These operations provide immediate decision support for designers. Additionally, since MEP design is typically completed in a single software [7], compared to third-party automated rule checking, the software secondary development approach makes it more convenient to inspect and correct errors.…”
