Bilateral Extensive Periorbital Milia en Plaque Treated with Electrodesiccation

Abstract: The case is being reported here to highlight the features of this rare but now well-recognized dermatologic condition, which has been reported increasingly in the recent past, to discuss the various treatments tried, and to share our experience of treating patients with the simple, inexpensive, easily available, and nonsophisticated office procedure of electrodesiccation.

“…After three weeks, complete re‐epithelialization occurred, and almost complete resolution of the lesions and no pigmentary changes were observed . Other inexpensive and office surgical procedures such as electrodesiccation and radiosurgery have been applied for the treatment of periorbital milia with partial resolution, but they are associated with considerable risk of thermal injury and scarring.…”
