In the context of international demands in recent decades to strengthen the commitment to inclusive policy and practices within education systems, teacher education has been challenged to find ways to prepare teachers capable of addressing the various needs of learners. The goal of this paper is to examine the research literature on initial teacher education for inclusive education (ITEIE) by using bibliometric analysis carried out on 440 documents indexed by Web of Science (WoS). The findings support the understanding of the ITEIE field regarding the evolution across time, the contributions in the field, the relevant journals, authors, and papers, the collaboration patterns. Although there has been a significant increase in the number of published works over the years, only a small number of countries and researchers have made significant contributions to the field. The analyses performed with VOSviewer software indicated poor collaboration among participating countries and authors. Several general topics have been addressed in the field over the past 25 years. There is a need to develop more cross-border research groups to ensure progress in the field. By mapping the emerging ITEIE research literature, this study can be a starting point for the development of new studies in the area.

Quality education is understood as one of the most powerful and proven drivers for ensuring sustainable development, which can be applied in various educational contexts, formal and non-formal, and which can generate multiple benefits for the general public. Given its relevance, this article presents a bibliometric approach of the scientific production generated around Sustainable Development Goal (SPG) 4 that seeks to “Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning” as a priority objective of 2030 Agenda. To develop this research, a literature search was conducted in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. The final sample was 240 publications. The data were analyzed around ten variables: year of publication, type of document, area of indexation, periodical publications, most productive authors, institutions, countries, languages, most cited articles, and key words. The findings of this study indicate that quality education, within the Sustainable Development Goals, is gaining relevance, with 2019 being the year with the highest scientific production. This is a growing theme that is transmitted mainly through articles and papers in English, and there are no institutions, research groups or authors with a broad scientific background and production. The conclusion is that this bibliometric approach is important and necessary to know the reality of scientific production on this subject and to be able to make proposals and lines of research for its development.

La lectura es clave para el éxito académico y personal. Para adquirir este hábito es necesario realizar intervenciones de animación a la lectura, ya que, sobre todo al principio, supone un gran esfuerzo. Resulta especialmente relevante en el caso del alumnado vulnerable, porque el hecho de adquirir este hábito contribuye a evitar el fracaso escolar y abre la puerta hacia la integración social. Sin embargo, transmitir el gusto por la lectura no es una tarea sencilla para los docentes. Dada la tendencia social que existe hacia las TIC y su valor motivacional, muchos autores las consideran grandes recursos para la animación a la lectura. Por este motivo, se planteó el objetivo de analisar las estrategias TIC para la animación a la lectura y qué importância conceden a la población vulnerable. A través del método de revisión sistemática de la literatura se han analizado 19 artículos indexados en Scopus y la Web of Science, obteniendo como resultado que la mayoría estudian las preferencias entre los formatos digital y tradicional de lectura y, algo más de la mitad, se dirigen a mayores de 18 años. De los estudios que ofrecen estrategias de animación a la lectura, se recogen algunos recursos TIC y metodologías que han servido com éxito para el fomento de la lectura. Por lo que resulta fundamental seguir investigando las formas de animación a la lectura más efectivas para incentivar el hábito de leer y conseguir la inclusión educativa y social del alumnado desfavorecido.
