The emergence of modern technology in the oil and gas sectors presents an opportunity to enhance productivity, minimize environmental impact and optimize the energy efficiency of these facilities, leading to increased economic benefits. In pursuit of sustainable development in gas-turbine operations, this study develops a mathematical model that is validated through experimental tests for monitoring the vibrations of an MS5002B gas turbine located in a gas compressor station. The primary objective is to determine the bifurcation indices, ensuring the continuous stability of the studied turbine's operating state while monitoring its vibrations in real-time.A comparison between the experimental and numerical results of the developed model is validated against real operating data, enabling predictions of the complex dynamic behaviors within the bearingrotor system of the examined turbine. Robustness tests, based on real-time operating data, are conducted to analyze the impacts of undesirable effects that may disrupt the turbine system, as depicted in the bifurcation diagram. This approach facilitates the monitoring of the dynamic behavior of vibratory phenomena in the examined turbine, allowing for the establishment of reliable diagnostic elements to ensure component stability and prevent unscheduled production shutdowns. Ultimately, this approach enhances energy efficiency while delivering environmental and economic improvements.

Bi-stable piezoelectric-magnetic-elastic energy harvester (BPEH) has been widely investigated to improve the harvesting performance of low-frequency vibration energy. The centrifugal effect, gravity effect and bi-stable restoring effect and their combinations on the BPEH's potential wells and dynamic behaviors in rotational motions are completely different from those in low-frequency ambient vibrations, and they have not yet been well explored. This article presents a rotational bi-stable piezoelectric-magnetic-elastic energy harvester (R-BPEH) to enhance the rotational vibration energy harvesting with the combinations of the centrifugal effect, gravity effect and bi-stable restoring effect. A theoretical model considering the centrifugal effect, gravity effect and bi-stable restoring effect was established to describe the dynamic response behaviors of the R-BPEH. The centrifugal effect caused by the centrifugal force, gravity effect induced by the gravity of tip magnet, bi-stable restoring effect induced by the nonlinear magnetic force and their combinations on the potential energy wells, dynamic performance and power generation are theoretically explored under different system parameters, such as magnetic distance, rotating radius and rotational speed, etc. The results show that the centrifugal hardening stiffness induced by the centrifugal force of the R-BPEH can increase the oscillating frequency and harvesting voltage in high rotational speed range, but narrows the working bandwidth of inter-well motion; The gravity component in transverse direction generates additional periodical excitation force on the R-BPEH to produce high energy generations, the gravity component in axial direction softens the centrifugal hardening effect to enhance the energy generation in low rotational speed range. In addition, their combination leads to the appearances of asymmetric potential wells which further enhance the dynamic and electrical performances of the R-BPEH. Experiments are conducted to show good agreement with the theoretical results. The maximum harvested voltage and power generation of the R-BPEH achieves 2.5 V and 0.59 µW when the rotational speed ranges from 150 rpm to 540 rpm.

This study presents multistability mechanisms that can enhance the energy harvesting performance of a piezoelectric energy harvester (PEH) with geometrical nonlinearities. To configure triple potential wells, static bifurcation diagrams in the structural parameter plane are depicted. On this basis, the key structural parameter is considered, of which three reasonable values are then chosen for comparing and evaluating the performances of the triple-well PEH under them. Then, intra-well responses and the corresponding voltages of the system are investigated qualitatively. A preliminary analysis of the suitable energy-harvesting conditions is carried out, which is then validated by numerical simulations of the evolution of coexisting attractors and their basins of attraction with variations in the excitation level and frequency. It follows that, under a low-level ambient excitation, the intra-well responses around the trivial equilibrium dominate the energy-harvesting performance. When the level of the environmental excitation is very low, which one of the three values of the key structural parameter is the best for improving the performance of the PEH system depends on the range of the excitation frequency; when the excitation level increases sufficiently to induce inter-well responses, the maximum one is the best for improving the performance of the PEH. The findings provide valuable insights for researchers working in the structure optimization and practical applications of geometrically nonlinear PEHs.
