AimThe authors conducted a bibliometric analysis to quantitatively assess the current research trend, performance and focus over the last 30 years in third molars surgery.Materials and MethodThe data used in this study comes from the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science Core Collection, the online version of the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI‐EXPANDED) (data updated on 22 March 2022). The extraction was conducted according to TOPIC (title, abstract, author keywords and KeyWords Plus) from 1991 to 2020.ResultsDuring a period of 30 years, a total of 6569 publications were found within 15 document types published in SCI‐EXPANDED. Article types (88%) were published mostly frequently and had the most citations per publication, followed by review articles (3.9%). The top three publication countries were the USA, Brazil and the UK. Forty‐four percent of the articles were inter‐institutionally collaborative articles. Twenty percent of the articles were internationally collaborative articles. The most productive institutes over the past three decades have been the University of São Paulo (Brazil), followed by the University of Campinas (Brazil) and the University of North Carolina (USA). Keywords can be considered very helpful in article dissemination.ConclusionThe present bibliometric analysis showed that articles published by international collaborative authors had the highest citations and there was no association between the number of citations and the quality of published articles on third molars. Identifying future research directions based on a bibliometric analysis of the characteristics of available literature in a field reduces the error margin and thus improves decision‐making.

Objectives The aim of this article is to report a case of iatrogenic Cushing's disease associated with a delayed inflammatory response due to a facial dermal filler procedure. Methods A case report according to CARE guidelines was performed. A delayed inflammatory reaction due to dermal filler injection resulted in iatrogenic Cushing's disease in a patient with no comorbidities or allergies. Results Prolonged use of glucocorticoids can cause adverse effects, such as iatrogenic Cushing's disease. Dermal fillers have a very low incidence of complications, but these need to be discussed with patients. Drugs used to treat delayed inflammatory reaction include antibiotics, antihistamines, steroids, and intralesional hyaluronidase. Reversal of dermal fillers should be explained to the patient and included in the written consent. Conclusions Due to patient non‐compliance and possible adverse effects of steroid medications, physicians should consider limiting their prescriptions of steroid medications to no more than 2 weeks and require frequent follow‐up to discuss hyaluronidase if the condition returns off of steroid medication. In addition, it may be advisable to only treat with one filler brand, especially in the same session as this may be a risk factor.

Cel pracy. Obraz ułatwia zrozumienie złożonych danych. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest omówienie doboru odpowiednich wykresów w artykułach o tematyce medycznej, stomatologicznej i naukach o zdrowiu, usprawniających możliwości przyswojenia danych oraz ich zapamiętania. Metody. Wykorzystano książki, strony internetowe oraz artykuły z zakresu dizajnu, matematyki, statystki, nauk o zdrowiu i technologii w celu jak najlepszego opisania wizualizacji danych poprzez użycie wykresów. Bibliograficzne bazy danych (MEDLINE, Cochrane Library) oraz publikacje z zakresu szarej literatury zostały użyte w poszukiwaniu stylów wykresów oraz dopasowania ich do konkretnych typów danych. Niektóre artykuły wykorzystano jako przykłady. Wyniki. Omówiono niektóre zasady wizualizacji danych. Typy wykresów (porównania, kombinacje, rozkłady i zależności) zostały wyjaśnione; przedstawiono również praktyczny przewodnik ułatwiający dobór wykresu do konkretnego rodzaju danych. Przedyskutowane zostały opcje kolorystyczne oraz elementy poprawiające estetykę. Wnioski. Właściwy dobór wykresów ma ogromne znaczenie dla badaczy oraz czytelników sprawiając, że dane są łatwiej przyswajalne.
