Bibliometric and visualized analysis of drug resistance in ovarian cancer from 2013 to 2022

Abstract: ObjectiveAs one of the cancers that seriously threatens women’s health, ovarian cancer has a high morbidity and mortality rate. Surgery and chemotherapy are the basic treatment strategies for ovarian cancer, and chemotherapy resistance is a significant factor in affecting the prognosis, survival cycle, and recurrence of ovarian cancer. This article aims to analyze articles about ovarian cancer and drug resistance via bibliometric software, offering new ideas and directions for researchers in this field. Methods… Show more

“…Although most ovarian cancer patients are relatively sensitive to platinum-based chemotherapy in the early stages, more than 60% of patients experience recurrence [ 4 ]. Furthermore, many patients develop secondary drug resistance after chemotherapy, which directly leads to the inability of chemotherapy drugs to effectively inhibit ovarian cancer cells, resulting in disease progression and seriously affecting the survival and quality of life of ovarian cancer patients [ 5 9 ]. Therefore, ovarian cancer drug resistance has become a difficult problem in clinical treatment, and the study of its mechanisms is particularly important, as these studies will provide new ideas for reversing ovarian cancer drug resistance.…”

“…Ovarian cancer is one of the most fatal cancers in women and the most common cause of gynecological cancer-related death worldwide [1][2][3][4]. Globally, approximately 230,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer annually [5].…”

“…In Japan, the number of patients and fatalities has increased annually [7]. Although extensive studies from multiple avenues have been carried out to improve current treatment strategies [2][3][4], early detection of ovarian cancer remains a concern since the symptoms are insignificant or nonspecific in the early stage and it is often not diagnosed until stage III or IV [8]. The development of a better diagnostic test for early ovarian cancer is expected to reduce the number of fatalities from this disease.…”

“…Baghban’s findings indicated an increasing trend in the research of extracellular vesicles and epithelial ovarian cancer ( 14 ). Conducting bibliometric analysis of literature pertaining to OC from various perspectives can aid in identifying research priorities within this domain while also presenting academic researchers with opportunities for collaboration ( 16 , 17 ). However, the current research status, development trends, and future research directions of OC imaging are still unclear.…”
