Bibliometric Analysis of the Journal of Civil Engineering and Management Between 2008 and 2018

Abstract: The Journal of Civil Engineering and Management (JCEM) is a prestigious international journal in the field of engineering. This paper uses the method of bibliometric to study the status and development trends of the journal. Information was collected from the Science Citation Index (SCI) database. Firstly, the general citation structure and basic characteristics of the JCEM journal are investigated. Then, the most influential institutions, countries as well as their networks of cooperation are identified. Fina… Show more

“…Note that in the literature, it has become the norm to develop bibliometric research since it provides scholars with realistic and objective statistics and analysis, enabling researchers to build a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the research field. The different application fields of bibliometric analysis include civil engineering and management [5], automation in construction [6], energy [7], road and bridge engineering [8], transport [9], etc. Particularly, it is interesting to publish special issues or papers to celebrate the significant anniversary of a journal.…”

“…Up to now, some research areas, like sustainable energy (Hache, Palle 2019), uncertain group decision-making (Wang et al 2021) and supply chain of renewable energy (Azevedo et al 2019), have been studied by bibliometric analysis. In addition, it seems to be popular to analyse journals comprehensively so that scholars and editors better understand the trends and features, and some top journals have been researched, such as: The Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering (Zhou et al 2020), Transport , Journal of Civil Engineering and Management (Yu et al 2019), IEEE Transaction on Fuzzy Systems , Information Sciences (Yu et al 2017), and European Journal of Operational Research (Laengle et al 2017).…”
