Bibliometric Analysis of Nursing Informatics Research

Abstract: This study aims to provide a bibliometric overview of research at nursing informatics and understand the state in nursing informatics in the last ten years. We used the Web of Science to extract relevant literature published from 2009 to 2018. A total of 455 articles were retrieved and analyzed. The total of the top 5 institutions, countries, journals was discussed. This study will help researchers to understand trends and the situation in nursing informatics research.

“…The centrality of nodes with circles is greater than 0.1, and the thicker the circle, the greater the centrality, where centrality is an important indicator used to determine the evolutionary process of the discipline and predict the development trend of the discipline, and the higher the centrality indicates the importance of the discipline’s development process. [ 17 ] The top 3 countries with higher centrality in this study are the United States (a centrality of 0.26), Sweden (a centrality of 0.24), and Canada (a centrality of 0.16).…”

“…The rise in the number of publications in the field of alveolar ridge augmentation has further elevated the significance of bibliometric analysis in this domain. This analytical approach aids not only in assessing the overall growth rate within the field but also in identifying specific subtopics of research, most cited studies, and influential researchers [10,11]. Moreover, valuable insights such as the extent of leadership assumed by different countries in this field and the prominent journals serving as publication platforms can be derived through this analysis [12].…”

“…[11] Apart from its application in this context, bibliometrics is also widely used for evaluating university research capabilities or individual strengths, understanding countries or departments with strong disciplinary research capacities, identifying potential collaboration partners, conducting institutional evaluations, and identifying talent. [12,13] In the realm of nurses' psychological resilience, previous researchers have expounded upon the current research landscape extensively. Nonetheless, there was a scarcity of comprehensive overviews that encompass the distinctive temporal period of the COVID-19 pandemic, for example, what important research hotspots, research directions, authoritative authors, and institutions in this special period have not been objectively confirmed.…”
